Título: MECHANIC IN ANDALUCIA
Publicado por: adieadie en 19 de Septiembre de 2008, 13:46:05
Hi there, apologies for speaking English only, but I have a Subaru Forester S-Turbo and I'm looking for a good independant subaru mechanic in Andalucia, specifically in Cadiz or Malaga Province - I am based in La Linea near Gibraltar.

If anyone knows of a good mechanic, please let me know, it would be a big help.

Also, does anyone here have EcuTek tuning on their Subaru?

Hi adieadie

I don't know any Subaru specialist around here. I doubt there is any...

But I can give you the address of a good garage in Estepona. Is where I take all my cars, even my Subaru. They know what they do, don't charge too much and ALWAYS listen to the client needs...

Regarding EcuTek tuning... that's even harder. I know there's an official dealer in Canarias. I can also give you details from another garage, this time in Málaga, who deals with car tuning, ECUs and so... you might get what you want there.

Cheers

Hi EDV11, can you send me the name of the garage in Estepona please. Thanks for the reply.

Have you had any modifications done to you car with this garage? Im thinking of swapping to a TD04 turbo from the stock turbo in the Forester, do you think they can do this kind of work and do they speak English?

I don't know if they speak english or not... I always speak with them in spanish   As long as you provide them the turbo I don't think they have any problem...

They have changed for clutches, gearbox, suspension and all kind of stuff... I have allways provided them with all the things needed, as I'm better than them searching for the parts, and I exactly know what I want. They maintain some rally cars and they are specialist in 4x4.

They have a website you can check-out, with their address and phone number: http://jopesa-automocion.com/paginas/inicioi.htm (http://jopesa-automocion.com/paginas/inicioi.htm)

Just give them a call and find out, I'm quite sure you will be satisfied.

By the way, what does your car have fitted from stock? A TD05?

By the way, what does your car have fitted from stock? A TD05?

Stock on the S-Turbo Forester is a TF035, a small turbo that spools very quickly. I'd like to add a TD04 (is anyone selling one?) a decent "decat" exhaust (not sure about emmisions laws in Spain though) and have it EcuTek tuned. But my "DIY" mechanic abilities are terrible and I dont have anywhere to work as I live in an apartment.

Ive just added a 22mm rear Whiteline swaybar (anti-roll bar) which has really helped handling as the stock rear bar is 13mm, but for some reason I have now gained a noise, so need a mechanic to look (

Do TD04 turbos ever come up for sale on here? How much do they sell for? Very cheap in the UK, around £50 GBP...

most people here have imprezas (turbocharged and N/A).

About emission laws in spain.... I meet people with skilines that they can acreditate this car to drive with spanish matricula (i don´t know english word)

For example, i have to made a project to include my tein coilovers in Technical card inspection. With exhaust pipes we have many troubles with police (noise).

In this forum some people have trouble in TVI (Compulsory legal vehicle inspection) with OEM  parts in their scoobies ( bonnet scoop, STI rear spoiler, RE070 Tyres...) because mechanics are incompetents in this stations.

Sorry but my english is not very good.

I also have the rear whiteline ARB, but I don't have any kind of noise coming from behind... Maybe you have a broken suspension bush and with the extra effort is now when you hear the noise...

Regarding the turbo, don't even bother to look for one in Spain. Just find someone in the UK that would be willing to ship to Spain (lots of sellers don't mind to do it... I have received many parts from there).

Almost everyone of us have an Impreza in different years, because we come from an exclusive Impreza site, but this club is intendeed to be for every Subaru. There are also some Forester, Legacy and SVX around here...

By the way, is your car with spanish plates? If you have UK plates don't even worry about the exhaust. But if you plan to change them, keep your stock system, as you will have to put it on every time you want to pass MOT (ITV in Spain). We are not allowed to change the exhaust system in any way, only if it already comes homologated...

For example I have a full decated exhaust from Moongoose, and every time I have to take the car to inspection, I just put the stock exhaust on...

Car has only been in Spain 2 weeks so still UK but I will be transferring it to Spanish plates - legally I'm allowed 6 months before i need to transfer.

So what is the most popular modification here in Spain? Raising the turbo boost?

The most popular fucking mod in this country is that. The only thing that they do is to put some plastics on their cars and four stickers. This is tuning in Spain.... Pathetically.... And all of them with Diesel power.........  :r_8xzwl:

La puta modificación más popular en este país es esa. Lo único que hacen es poner unos plásticos encima de sus coches y cuatro pegatas. Eso es el tuning en España...... Patético.... Y todos ellos petroleros.......  :s244:

Why is that? Dont the Spanish like messing around with cars or is it some other reason? Is the ITV too strict or something?
